A: Yes. Usually, the main fault with these types of showers is the internal cartridge has failed which is easily replaceable.
A: In the vast majority of cases it is not economical to try and repair a shower unless it still under the manufacturer’s warranty. Brand-new showers are pretty inexpensive these days, and you can purchase them from anywhere between £70 – £100 for a basic unit. If you were to try and repair a shower that was no longer under warranty, I would have to diagnose a problem, source the replacement parts, wait for them to arrive and then fit them into the shower. In some cases, the failed show unit may have to be sent to the supplier who would charge you for repairing it as well as shipping fees.
A: Yes. Before purchasing an electric shower, please make sure you are buying the correct kilowattage shower unit. If you are purchasing a thermostatic shower, you will want to make sure it will fit correctly.
A: Yes. Nearly everyone I have installed a shower for has asked me if I can source the shower and install it for them. By me sourcing the shower for them, it eliminates the risk of the customer purchasing the wrong shower unit by mistake. Not all shower units are the same. They have different measurements, power and dimensions, so you have to make sure you get the correct one.
A: First I would need to inspect your shower unit and have a look at the existing pipework to make sure nothing needs to be modified before installing the new shower unit. In some cases, it can be a simple swap over, and you would only be charged my minimum rate for the first hour.
A: I would recommend either Triton or Gainsborough as they are good value for money and not overly expensive.
